2001 PROJECT

The competition brief for Cordoba, Spain, asked for a program of 600 apartment units. These were organized in towers, freely positioned in a park along river.

Housing towers contain apartments treated as private houses placed on top of each other. Rotation of the apartments creates open spaces and terraces on the next floor. In this way each apartment has a view and privacy of individual houses at the same time.

Apartments are organized around the core with bathroom and kitchen facilities. Size of the apartments varies from 80-120 m2. Entrance to the apartments is through the carport. Ground floor of the housing unit is reserved for commercial or public program, while the first floor is reserved for the residents.
